(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - "We are ready to cooperate with NAM and Iran for establishing sustainable peace in the region and the world," the Ruler of Umm al-Quwain emirate, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid al-Mualla said, addressing the NAM summit here in Tehran on Friday.
He called on the NAM members to respect the movement's principles in a bid to materialize peace, security and stability, adding that respecting national sovereignty, good neighborliness, avoiding interference in countries' affairs and finding just solution are among the MAM principles.
The morning session of the second day of the NAM summit adjourned after tens of the heads of state participating the conference expressed their viewpoints on the missions and goals of the bloc.
On Thursday, Egyptian President Mohammad Mursi officially handed the presidency of the movement to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during the inaugural ceremony of the summit.
NAM is an international organization of states considering themselves not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc. NAM is the largest grouping of countries outside of the United Nations.
NAM member states represent nearly two-thirds of the United Nations' members and comprise 55% of the world population, particularly countries considered to be developing or part of the Third World.
